They are all wearing hoodies, and the sounds of a Jay-Z song can be heard in the background. EARL (V.O.) Growing up in Yonkers, I always felt like an outsider. I didn't fit in with the cool kids, and I didn't have much of a family to rely on. But I had my music. That was my escape. INT. RECORDING STUDIO - DAY DMX is in the studio, recording a new song. DMX'S APARTMENT - NIGHT DMX is sitting on his couch, smoking a joint. His phone rings. DMX (into phone) What's up, dawg? CUT TO: INT. TOUR BUS - NIGHT DMX is on tour, performing in front of a packed arena. The crowd is going wild. DMX (shouting into microphone) Y'all ready to party?! CUT TO: INT. DMX'S HOTEL ROOM - DAY DMX is sitting on his bed, surrounded by piles of cash and jewelry. He looks bored. DMX (to himself) Is this it? Is this all there is to life? INT.
